The development of the Pet Project by MLA began in August 2014 in Dubai, and the first prototype was tested by the designer's mascots, John and Fledermaus, in September 2014. Since then, they have made the pet house their cozy abode.

Marie Laurent Wilfred, the designer behind the Pet Project by MLA, recognized the need for a well-designed pet house that matches the quality and style of residential villas and penthouses. The pet house is often overlooked in interior design, but Wilfred aimed to change that by creating a contemporary, open space with apparent structures and bright colors for individuality. The custom-made sizes ensure a perfect fit for any pet, regardless of their shape or size.

One of the challenges faced during the design process was creating a comfortable area for pets that provided a sense of protection while still maintaining proximity to their owners. With their own carpentry factory in Dubai, the design team was able to overcome this challenge by crafting bespoke furniture for specific projects.
